Perth - Part 2...The Bush, Kangaroos, Down South, Rottnest island..
A spooky looking house down at Donnelly River, a trip down south with Megan and her Uncle Max!
Old timber mill, abandoned, spooky as hell.

Little joeys everywhere, we bought some food to feed 'em up!
Well cute!
Max sporting the latest fashion accessories, live birds :)
Lots of seeds all over the deck and rail attracted a lot of visitors!
Watch out for those claws over your main arteries, really pinches!

Please sir, can I have some more.

Willing to overcome their fears for a good meal...

Alpacas feeding on fingers...megan only has 3 left in this pic!

Yes, Hello.

Evil looking Emu's!
Croc water!!...nah just kiddin', looks like it tho!

Cool eerie photos of the old 50's timber yard worker's houses where we stayed.

Our home for a few days...before the zombies attack :)

Looks like the Evil Dead in the woods, cool shot.
Offroading through the forests in Max's 4x4, quality!
My domain during travelling times.
This is the diamond tree. You wouldn't believe how high this is....and as shown below, only metal rods sticking out are there to help you climb up...a real personal goal getting to the top, in the rain, on slippy metal rods :) Good thing there was no lightning!
Had to be done!
Our forest trail!
This is a 360 degree view at the top of the Gloucester tree. This giant Karri tree is the tallest fire-outlook tree in the world at 61 metres high (201 feet!)... amazing!

Megan snapping pics of the view, and checking for forest fires!
Top of the world. Top of the highest fire lookout in the world anyway!
Max at the tree top!
Our names, Meg and Lee and Max was here carved into the wood floor at the top of the tree!
A quick trek on foot.
Our comments in the comments book after the tree climb...no kids ripping pages out, no one stole the pen...respect.
Cheesy grin while forest treking.

Breakfast time! They grab hold of you with their arms when you try to get away if they think you still have food!...Didn't bother me until Max told me that the have been known to hold onto you with their arms, lean back onto their tail for support and use their huge feet claws to tear your guts open! Great :)
hehe, sniffing for food.
Our back was turned for a second, left the door open and this kangaroo just wondered in, looking for some grub...kitchen is that way mate!
Quick photo op stop.
Quality trek up and over sand dunes on a offroad crazy track in the 4x4 led us to this...the ocean!
Fishing rods out, steak as bait, tryin to hook some sharks!

Megan casting out into the ocean. Here sharky sharky.
Absolutley no-one for miles around here. Great moody weather.

Snaaaakkkee!!!

Amazing forest view.

Took a tour through caves!
Max sorted us out an amazing little place to stay in Dunsborough on the way home!!
Just look at it..real fire, wood to burn!
And an attic style upper bedroom, overlooking downstairs...amazing!
Walking down the longest pier I've ever seen! - Busselton Jetty

Look at it go! Busselton jetty is the longest wooden jetty in the southern hemisphere.
Seriously long pier. It goes 2km out to sea!! Just keeps on going and going!
The 'under the tree' pose.
Megan and I enjoying the view in our stop off in Bunbury.
Early morning in Perth City to catch a ferry to Rottnest Island with Megan's Aunty Tessa.
Crystal skies!
Beautiful city, theres those palm trees again...a sign of quality. A little oasis.
Perth city in the distance.
Me tryin to pick out which boat I want...
This one will do nicely!
We arrived at Rottnest....greeted by a huge Pelican eyeing up it's meal.
The chase begins.
Van Damme pose...gotta do it! Perth city in the very far distance.
Looks like Mexico here, it's not, just an orange wall.
This is a Quokka! They look like rats/kangaroos...the Island was called Rottenest a long time ago which means Rats Nest in Dutch because these rat-like Quokkas are only found here. Now it's just known as Rotto to the locals.
We hired some bikes...and toured the island! The only people that have cars on this island are the authorities/workers..everyone else is biking or walking or bus-ing.
Megan's catalogue pose!
Watch your speed!
Ruining the perfect looking sand of the mini desert leading to the sea.
Quick pic whilst sat on our rocks!
One of the many many beaches that surround the coast of this Island.
There's so many photo ops here.
A lighthouse in the middle of the island somewhere, strangely!
Cool looking tree with the sun going down behind it. It was an art shot, I admit.
Chilling at sunset after a hard day exploring the Island.
A beach to ourselves...you can't ask for more than that.
Our bag of supplies.
Lying on the beach before sundown.
Very handy to have decent shades when the sun is constantly tryin to burn your retinas.
Sunsets are always amazing here, can't help but make the most of as many as you can.
Wow.
Our accommodation during our time at Rottnest.
The sun started to hurt my english head, so I hooded up.
Trying to find some decent head gear for our trip back to Canada. What do you think?
Always chillin.
Kite surfing dudes on the water, just letting them power you across the ocean, looks ace.
Our rock.
Our big rock actually. A little secluded paradise area we stumbled upon.
The tide rolling up.
Another gorgeous beach! Another lighthouse.
Walking across the sand with the water washing up...
Megan with a strange hooded creature :)
The ferry on the way back...Tessa, Me and Meg...and some chips for the road..er..water!
Quite a solemn journey back to Perth on this ferry, the sun leaving us...until tomorrow begins.
Flat head and Megan on the ferry, sun blushed.
City sillouettes along the shores of the Swan River at dusk.
City of lights.
A raining morning at a coffee shop next to the harbour in Sorrento...those boats were for sale!
Instead of staying home for more of Megan's Mum and Dad's amazing cooking, we thought we'd give them a break...we went out to eat at a Chinese restaurant for one last time before heading off.
Megan's Aunty Noel, Nanna, Mum, Dad, cousin Sarah, Rhys, and Uncle Ron...our leaving party farewells us at the airport!!! Was great meeting them..lovely people, made me feel so so welcome, thanks to everyone!...We'll be back...!!!!
On the plane back to sunny Vancouver...after 3 months in Perth, it's hard to look forward to moving away. I can tell there's a lot more to come for us...more great experiences, and happy times...as always! Are you ready Vancouver, because here we come!
